The subject of my art work falls into two main categories. The first being traditional, representational oil painting on board and/or canvas. This includes: landscape, still life and portraiture. The other area of focus is a more surreal, fantasy subject matter. This includes my children’s book illustrations as well as the two children’s books I have written and self-published, (view in the gallery titled Books). I studied Fine Art and Illustration at The School of Visual Arts in New York City. After graduating I studied representational painting and anatomy on Merit Scholarship at The Art Student’s League, also in NYC . While studying there, I was selected for an apprenticeship with the painter Nelson Shanks. I spent 4 years studying in this focused setting developing my technical and artistic ability.
